Jean-Baptiste Rousseaux Trio

Formed around trumpeter and composer Jean-Baptiste Rousseaux, the trio brings together Konrad Waldert on double bass and Gianbattista Di Genio on drums. Without a harmonic instrument, this formation gives full rein to the dialogue between the trumpet, double bass, and drums, in a performance where space, movement, and interaction take center stage.

Inspired by a journey through Belarus, Kaveriot Koridor, the trio's debut album released on April 24, 2026, by Gleam Records, features original compositions written specifically for the ensemble. The tracks navigate between virtuoso trumpet lines, lyrical ballads, and melodies with narrative undertones. On two tracks, the trio welcomes Canadian guitarist Alex Goodman.

Mixed and mastered in New York by Dave Darlington, the album creates a refined sonic universe, where each instrument finds its place in an open and fluid musical conversation.

Jazz Magazine Révélation

“It is an admirable debut, certainly worthy of recommendation. It demonstrates an already well-defined ability on the part of the leader and his fellow musicians to make choices, united by an interplay that is at times almost telepathic.” Sandro Cerini , Musica Jazz (Italy)
